Ownership

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come”

2 Corinthians 1:20-22

While reading today, this scripture was brought to mind. As I sat there and just pondered it the concept of God setting his seal of ownership on us really hit me. It’s like this- when you buy a new shirt you don’t leave the tags on saying your going to save it for later, you may change your mind, may want to return it.  No, most of the time, you get it home, remove tags, throw away receipts and can’t wait for the first opportunity to wear. God does the same thing, when you become His, He proudly labels you as His, throws away receipts, and actually invests in us- He puts His Spirit in us GUARANTEEING what is to come. Not hoping, or assuming things are to come, GUARANTEEING. When was the last time you invested in something and they guaranteed something great? Most of the time it’s a scam, or there is a catch. Not with God, not with your life.

You, me, we all are brothers and sisters. All owned by God, if we have let Him deposit His Spirit in us. Some may reject that idea, thinking they don’t want to be owned by something, afraid of what that might mean. To me, it simply means this- I am now and forever God’s daughter. His label on my life proclaims to Satan that He best back off if He knows whats best because Jesus already beat Him once, and the same power in Him lives in me.

Let me ask you this, have you been claimed by the Spirit of God?  If not, know He still wants you.

You can be part of this awesome family of God’s. If you want to know God more, I’d like to help you. I can connect you to many resources and even talk to you through what it means to be part of God’s family.
