“The square peg trying to fit into the round hole”
We’ve all been there. We’ve all been that person who worked so hard to fit in, that we split. We lost our form, we tried to take on the shape of something we’re not and the splinters formed. We worked and worked and still, we’re a square trying to fit into a round hole.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
As Christians, we’re told not to conform. Why force ourselves into circles when God is perfectly pleased with us as squares? Why go to all the circle places trying to fit in when we have places that we fit perfectly in? When we allow ourselves to be who God made us, when we truly take our shape of a square and allow our mind to be renewed by God, we then and only then truly understand what God wants us to do.
See, I’ve been a square trying to fit in. At Berry, at home, at church, at work, and so many other places. Instead of me trying to fit in and eventually losing my shape, I’m going to stand solid and be who I was made to be. Sure, it’s gonna be uncomfortable sometimes but when I truly allow myself to be who I am, I’m going to be comfortable in my own skin and not really care about those around.
Today are you a square trying to fit into a round hole?
